Time management is one of the top priorities in life.

It is because we have something that we can never resist and overcome. Death!

Due to the existence of it,

we recognize that we just have a limited time in life and try to use it effectively.

Can we manage time perfectly?

I do not think so.

Why do we try to manage time?

When someone has got a goal to achieve, they begin to think of the effective use of time.

The goal might be a certain phase of their ultimate purpose to accomplish in life.

In any case, we assume that we need a certain period of time to achieve them,

which results in occupying some part of your lifespan.

Therefore, the more we have goals in life and the longer the required time to get the goals,

the less free time we have, which makes us more unhappy and painful.

It is because we can not control time .

A good example of it is that more than 99% of people think they are not living what they previously intended to do

in either a good way or a bad way.

Some of them wanted to be a teacher, but now are a singer or related to different jobs compared to their first intentions.

However, we keep on trying to control time because we think we can take time under our control. Absurd!

If we more focus on managing time, we would tend to distrust life and get less happy.

Time is almost always out of our control.

What can we do?

How much or strongly to manage time is, I think, a matter of what sort of value systems each person has in life.

I personally think we need to break out of the jail called “Time”.

Of course, we can set up a timetable for some business project or our objects in life.

But we should not be too hard for them.

Someone may say that my kind of view on life can disregard seriousness of life.

Then, I can say that I have a different version of seriousness towards life.

Anyway, too much seriousness on life might deprive us of our happiness in life.

Time will never be controlled by us.

It has lead us where we are now.

Time controls us, not the other way around.

tea

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor’s cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. “It is overfull. No more will go in!”

“Like this cup,” Nan-in said, “you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?”

beach

We came out of nothing and will return to it.

We could not decide to be born and are not able to expect when we die.

Out of control.

We are here by chance and will be gone just like that.

In between, everyting is a miracle.

Even our suffering is a wonder.

Let’s puff our chest out and enjoy full of wonders in life.
